Sell items on Maloum: the shop explained
Written by Sophia Brecht Published Last updated
To sell items on Maloum you use the shop on your profile: you list physical products such as socks, shoes or corsets, and Maloum sells them to your fans in its own name. You ship the parcel with no trace of your address on it. Maloum checks every product by hand, and the money is split under the same commission rules as subscriptions. Checked on 1 October 2026.
How do you sell items on Maloum?
You create the product in the shop, Maloum reviews it and links it to your channel. When a fan buys, you send the item yourself.
Legally, one thing works differently from subscriptions and chat content. Under §14.1 of the creator terms, Maloum runs a web shop in which creators’ products go to fans »im Namen und auf Rechnung des Providers«, meaning in Maloum’s name and for Maloum’s account. The seller the fan deals with is therefore neolime GmbH in Vienna, the company behind Maloum. You supply the goods, and Maloum handles the sale and takes the payment.
How is your address kept private when you ship?
§14.2 requires that the outer packaging gives no hint of your identity or your address. Maloum’s Vienna address goes on the parcel as the sender.
In practice that means a plain box, no stamp with your name, no handwritten return address and nothing stuck to the outside that leads back to you. Slipping a card with your Instagram handle or phone number inside would be a mistake as well, because Maloum bans anything that steers fans to channels outside the platform (§8.1).
What prices does Maloum suggest for socks and other products?
Maloum publishes its own guide prices in the help centre: €10–40 for socks, €25–150 for shoes and €50–100 for corsets. It sets no fixed minimum or maximum price for products.
| Product | Maloum’s guide price | Example price (net) | What the fan pays | Your share (80%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Socks | €10–40 | €20.00 | €23.00 plus VAT | €16.00 |
| Shoes | €25–150 | €80.00 | €92.00 plus VAT | €64.00 |
| Corsets | €50–100 | €60.00 | €69.00 plus VAT | €48.00 |
The guide prices come from the help article with price suggestions for products, last changed on 22 April 2025. The example prices, service fee and share are our own arithmetic: Maloum adds a 15% service fee to the price you set, then VAT. Which VAT rate it applies, the platform does not publish.
Does the Maloum shop use different commission rules?
No. §14.9 extends the general terms to physical products and names the rules on commission and billing explicitly. By default you receive 80% of net revenue and Maloum keeps 20%.
The fan pays the 15% service fee on top, and none of it goes to you. Shop income is paid out together with the rest of your earnings by credit note (Gutschrift) to the bank account on file. Deadlines and the €30 threshold are covered in the post on Maloum payouts, and the maths behind the 80% sits under Maloum fees.
What belongs in the shop, and what in the chat?
The shop is for physical products that reach the fan by post. Digital content travels by other routes.
Photos and videos are sold in the chat, each with its own price and unlocked once paid. Custom requests are agreed in the chat too, and according to the help centre they are paid through the tip function. A fan who orders a pair of socks and also wants a personal photo is buying two separate things through two separate channels. Keep them apart in your notes so that, if a query comes in later, it is clear what was delivered.
What can’t you sell in the Maloum shop?
Maloum does not approve products that have been in contact with blood, for health reasons. Urine, breast milk and faeces are refused as well.
Product photos have rules of their own. They count as public content and follow the same standards as public posts: no genitals, no nipples, no sexual acts. §14.10 also rules out 18+ images in the shop explicitly. A good product photo therefore shows the item itself, in daylight, with the material and condition easy to see. A person at Maloum reviews every listing; how long that takes is not published.
What happens if a fan complains?
If a chargeback follows because the item was faulty or did not match its description, Maloum may pass the full cost on to you (§15.9).
So describe products exactly as they will arrive: size, material, colour, condition. Promise something you cannot ship and the bill lands with you. Write down when you posted which parcel as well; when a question comes up, a proof of postage is worth more than anyone’s memory.
Is the shop worth it next to subscriptions and chat?
There is no general answer, because Maloum publishes no sales figures. The shop is one income source among several, next to subscriptions, tips and paid content in the chat, which the post on how Maloum works brings together.
What decides it for you is the effort. Buying or making the items, photos, packaging, postage and the trips to the post office are all yours to cover. On Maloum you trade as a business owner (Unternehmer) in any case. Whether product sales are taxed differently from digital content is a question for your tax adviser; the post on Maloum taxes gives an overview of what Maloum requires. How the shop fits into a month alongside subscriptions and chat is covered in making money on Maloum.
