Maloum marketing and traffic
Last updated
Maloum marketing, for us, means finding future fans where they already spend their time (Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit and YouTube) and bringing them to your Maloum profile. Maloum’s own help centre recommends exactly that and says you should promote yourself actively even though Discovery exists. The opposite direction is off limits: inside Maloum you may not point anyone to other platforms or ways of getting in touch.
Why is Maloum’s Discovery feature not enough?
Because nobody outside Maloum knows how it picks profiles. Maloum promises the feature puts you in front of fans looking for new creators, but publishes no criteria for it.
For the public top 100 list, the terms name engagement, revenue and content quality. Revenue needs paying fans, though, and bringing those in is the whole point of outside promotion. Maloum’s guide for creators lists Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit and YouTube by name for this. maloum.com also has category pages and country pages for Germany and Austria; so far there is no page for Switzerland. How Discovery and the ranking work in detail is described in getting fans on Maloum.
Which channels do we use for Maloum marketing?
The five Maloum recommends itself, weighted by your style and by how much of yourself you want to show. No channel is compulsory.
| Channel | What we use it for | What we watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Recognition, stories, a link to your profile | Public content stays safe for work | |
| TikTok | Reaching new people with short videos | Sparking curiosity rather than selling right away |
| X | Previews, announcements, conversation | The same tone as on your profile |
| Communities around your niche | Reading each community’s rules first | |
| YouTube | Longer formats, showing personality | Only if you enjoy making video |
In our four OnlyFans case studies, the traffic came from Reddit, X, TikTok and Instagram. The figures there are US dollars from OnlyFans accounts, not Maloum results, but the channel work is the same. You can read them on our results page.
A link always goes to your Maloum profile, never to a payment page somewhere else. New visitors land on your public posts first, which Maloum requires to be free of explicit nudity anyway, and then decide whether to subscribe.
What is banned when promoting around Maloum?
Anything that leads fans away from Maloum. Section 8.1 of the creator terms forbids links, usernames, contact details and any other hints that steer users to outside channels, websites, platforms or payment routes. Section 8.2 also bans advertising rival platforms and poaching fans or creators. After a breach, Maloum may block the account immediately, and the contract sets a flat contractual penalty of €500.
One more rule affects us directly as an agency. Recruiting creators on Maloum for agency, management or service work is banned (section 8.2.8). That is why we never approach anyone through messages or comments on Maloum. If someone sends you an agency offer there, they are breaking Maloum’s terms by doing so.
Why do we not promise a set number of subscribers?
Because we control neither Maloum’s Discovery nor reach on social networks. Anyone who promises you a particular number is counting on factors outside their hands. In our study of Maloum agencies, 3 of 10 sources advertised guarantees on revenue or growth. What we commit to instead is in the questions below.
We read every rule on this page on 1 October 2026 in Maloum’s creator terms (version of 9 July 2026) and its help centre. How promotion, chat and pricing fit together is described under Maloum management.
Frequently asked questions
Can you guarantee growth on Maloum?
No, and a promise like that from any agency should make you suspicious. Maloum keeps the logic behind its discovery feature to itself, and it can change the top 100 list without warning. What we can promise is written into the contract: the tasks we agreed on, a weekly report and a notice period you know from the start. Our case studies record what happened on OnlyFans; they say nothing binding about your Maloum account.
Do I need followers already?
No. We don’t ask for any particular follower count, and you don’t need a Maloum account yet to apply. You do have to be an adult, and Maloum will ask you for proof that you work as a business. Starting from zero mainly takes patience while your own channels grow, because Maloum’s help centre itself tells creators to promote actively outside the platform. Of our four case studies, all on OnlyFans, two started with an account that had just been opened.
Am I allowed to promote other platforms on Maloum?
No. Maloum’s creator terms rule out links, usernames and contact details that steer fans off Maloum, and they rule out advertising rival platforms as well. What muddies this is Maloum’s own comparison page on OnlyFans, which suggests the two platforms can promote each other. The contract is what binds you, and a breach can get the account blocked. Posting on Instagram, X or TikTok to bring people to Maloum is allowed under the same rules. Once you are inside Maloum, every pointer to somewhere else is out.
