Maloum agency pricing
Last updated
Our Maloum agency pricing comes down to one commission of 30% to 60% of what your account earns. Where your rate lands depends on how much work we take on. It is fixed in writing before you sign, together with the amount it is charged on. You pay nothing upfront. Maloum’s own 20% and the fans’ service fee are separate from it.
How does our Maloum agency pricing follow the scope?
The more work we do, the higher the rate. If you handle chat and promotion yourself and leave pricing and planning to us, you end up at the lower end. If you hand over everything Maloum allows third parties to do, you end up close to 60%.
| Task | Smaller scope, rate nearer 30% | Full scope, rate nearer 60% |
|---|---|---|
| Planning subscription price, private posts and mass messages | Us | Us |
| Shop upkeep and the weekly report | Us | Us |
| Chatting with fans, with a notice about the team | Usually you | Our team |
| Promotion on Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit or YouTube | Usually you | Us |
There is no more detailed price list, because every account needs a different mix. We do not sell a content package, a base fee or a course. What each row involves is described under Maloum management.
What does a Maloum agency cost on €1,000 of revenue?
At an assumed rate of 36% on Maloum’s credit note, you keep €512 out of €1,000 in creator revenue. Both numbers are invented to make the arithmetic easy to follow: your revenue and your rate will be different.
| Step | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Your creator revenue for the month, assumed | Total of your prices without VAT or service fee | €1,000.00 |
| Service fee that fans pay on top | 15% of €1,000 | €150.00 |
| Fans’ net payment | €1,000 plus €150 | €1,150.00 |
| VAT | Added to the fan’s price; Maloum does not publish the rate | not calculated |
| Maloum’s commission | 20% of €1,000 | €200.00 |
| Maloum’s credit note to you | 80% of €1,000 | €800.00 |
| Hypothetical agency rate: 36% of the credit note | 36% of €800 | €288.00 |
| What you keep | €800 minus €288 | €512.00 |
In this example Maloum keeps €350: €200 in commission plus €150 in service fee. Your €800 is 69.6% of the fans’ net payment; the terms give 69.5% for this. The order of the deductions comes from section 15 of the creator terms, version of 9 July 2026, and the arithmetic is ours.
The same percentage applied to a different base shows how much the base matters. If an agency takes 36% of creator revenue, that is €360 and you keep €440. If it charges on the fans’ net payment including the service fee, it is €414 and you keep €386. The cheapest and the most expensive reading are €126 a month apart. How we fix the base is answered in the questions below.
When does Maloum pay out, and when do we invoice?
Under the contract, Maloum pays you by the end of the following month at the latest, by credit note to your IBAN. If your claim for a month is under €30.00, it carries over to the next month. The help centre names the first of each month as payday instead; we plan with the contract. Our invoice only comes once the money has reached you. The full process is on the page about Maloum payouts.
What do other agencies charge for Maloum?
That is hard to tell, because almost nobody publishes numbers. For our study we read ten sources on 1 October 2026 that offer or describe agency work on Maloum. None of the three agencies among them named its own rate. The only percentages were general market claims on two advice sites, ranging from 20%–30% up to 50%–70% after the platform fee. Broader German-language agency sites quote market ranges of around 20%–50%. Our 30%–60% is higher at both ends, and we only charge near the top when we take on the full scope, chat team and promotion included. Unlike those estimates, our range is published. Method and sources are in the study of Maloum agencies, and the wider picture is under agency commission on Maloum.
How does working together end?
With the notice period in your agreement. Read that line closely, ours included. One advice site from our study calls notice periods of one to three months, sometimes six, normal for the industry. We put the period in writing before you sign, and because your account, your IBAN and your logins never change owner, nothing has to be handed back at the end. The guide to the Maloum agency contract lists the clauses to check in any contract.
All details as of 1 October 2026. Maloum can change its creator terms with four weeks’ notice.
Frequently asked questions
Is the commission charged on gross or net?
We set the base in writing for each account before you sign. On Maloum, three amounts could serve as that base: what the fan pays including the service fee, your creator revenue without tax and service fee, and the credit note for 80% of that which Maloum transfers to you. Depending on which one is used, the same percentage can cost you noticeably more or less. Ask any agency which figure its rate is applied to, and get the answer into the contract.
Do you charge anything up front?
No. There is no setup charge, no monthly flat fee and nothing to pay for training or content bundles. Our only income is the commission we agree with you, so we earn once your account makes money and Maloum has paid you through its credit note (Gutschrift). Two of the pages we reviewed for our study of Maloum agencies make the same point: an agency you can trust does not bill you in advance.
Can I end the contract, and what happens to my account?
Yes, with the notice period set out in our agreement, which you see before you sign. Your account stays with you, untouched, because it was never transferred in the first place; the one sensible step is a new password. Your contract with Maloum is a separate matter. According to the creator terms, either party may end it without stating a reason, giving four weeks’ notice to the end of a month by email to support@maloum.com.
