Maloum chat management
Last updated
With our Maloum chat management, trained people answer your fans’ messages, offer paid content and look after tips and custom requests, always inside the limits you set in writing. Maloum has explicitly allowed this kind of support since 9 July 2026. The condition is that the chat makes it plain that third parties may be writing.
How does selling work in the Maloum chat?
Through content with its own price that only becomes visible after payment. Subscribers buy these extras as well, because according to Maloum, particularly exclusive content can cost extra on top of a subscription.
| Chat sale | How it works on Maloum | What our team does |
|---|---|---|
| Paid message | Photo, video or other digital content with its own price, unlocked after payment | The fitting offer at the right moment |
| Mass message | A paid message sent to many fans at once | Picking recipients, writing the text, setting the price |
| Tip | Fans can send one at any time in chat | Saying thank you, keeping the conversation going |
| Custom request | Details agreed in chat, paid through the tip function | Settling the price, coordinating delivery with you |
| Welcome | Maloum can send an automatically generated welcome message | Writing the text for it |
Good chat sales depend less on the price than on timing. A fan who has just bought something does not get the next offer from us straight away, and nobody is offered content they already own. Software keeps track of that; people write the messages.
What does Maloum require from chat management by a third party?
Honesty about who is writing. Section 7.7 of the creator terms reads: »Der Creator ist verpflichtet, transparent und unmissverständlich offenzulegen, dass im jeweiligen aktuellen Chat Dritte oder KI zum Einsatz kommen können.« (The creator must disclose clearly and unambiguously that third parties or AI may be used in the current chat.) The same paragraph forbids misleading fans about the identity of the person they are chatting with. If you break this rule, you have to indemnify Maloum.
Fans do agree in Maloum’s terms (AGB) that creators may bring in third parties for communication. That consent does not replace the notice in the chat, though. Before the first conversation we agree with you what the notice says and where it appears, and when a fan asks directly who is replying, nobody on our team lies about it.
Maloum has its own reason to care. In its blog, Maloum tells fans that on its platform they will not subscribe to an account where an agency is posing as the creator. A chat team that hides itself works against the platform’s own promise.
Why do we put people in the chat instead of a bot?
Because fans pay for a real conversation, and because Maloum keeps automation on a short leash. With us, a person types and sends every message. Maloum would allow AI for content and account work, with labelling duties for you (section 7.6). Section 8.2.5, however, bans any automated access to the platform by external programs.
Agencies get offered tools with scrapers and automatic messages all the same. In our study of Maloum agencies, one of ten sources sold exactly that kind of automation. What Maloum permits with artificial intelligence is set out under AI on Maloum.
How do you set limits for your chat team?
In writing, before the first message goes out. Some limits are yours to set, and Maloum sets others for everyone.
| Limit | Who sets it |
|---|---|
| Topics that are off the table | You |
| Content that is never offered, and minimum prices | You |
| How far discounts may go | You |
| Offering real-life meetings or prostitution | Banned by Maloum |
| Links, usernames or contact details outside Maloum | Banned by Maloum (section 8.1) |
| Violence, non-consensual acts, incest, extreme BDSM, in messages as well | Banned by Maloum (section 8.2) |
Changes to your limits also reach us in writing, so the whole team works from the same list.
Why is German the main language on Maloum?
Because Maloum was built for the German-speaking market, as the platform says itself. The website exists in German and English, the help centre only in German, and only the German version of the contract is binding. Which languages our team covers for you is answered in the questions below.
We checked every rule on this page on 1 October 2026 against Maloum’s creator terms (version of 9 July 2026) and its fan terms. How chat and pricing work together is shown under Maloum management. If you would like to work in the chat yourself, see becoming a Maloum chatter.
Frequently asked questions
Are your chatters bots or AI?
No. A trained person on our team types and sends each message your fans receive. Software helps us keep an overview of conversations and purchases, but it never composes a reply. Maloum would in fact permit AI, provided you meet its labelling requirements, while its terms forbid programs that access the platform automatically. The duty to tell fans that someone else helps with the chat covers our human team in exactly the same way.
Will fans find out that a team helps write the messages?
Yes, because Maloum makes it mandatory. Since July 2026 you have to state clearly and unmistakably in the chat that third parties or AI may be taking part, and no one may deceive fans about who they are really talking to. Fans, for their part, agree in Maloum’s terms that creators may get help with communication. If you ignore the disclosure duty, you have to hold Maloum harmless against any claims that follow. That is why we only work with the notice visible.
Which languages do your chatters use?
Whichever languages your agreement names. Maloum describes itself as built for the German-speaking market, and only the German text of its creator contract is valid. In our first call we look at your earlier messages or your social accounts to work out where your audience lives. That tells us which languages our team will cover for you. When a fan writes in a language outside that list, we decide together with you how to respond.
