Maloum AI rules: is AI allowed on Maloum?
Written by Sophia Brecht Published Last updated
Yes, AI is allowed on Maloum. Since the creator terms of 9 July 2026 you may use artificial intelligence for content and for the work of running your account. Maloum’s AI rules attach two duties to that: you label AI content on your own responsibility, and in the chat you disclose that third parties or AI may be writing. Programs that access the platform automatically from outside are still banned. Checked on 1 October 2026.
Is AI allowed on Maloum, and since when?
Yes, expressly since the version of 9 July 2026. §7.6 of the creator terms permits »Technologien der Künstlichen Intelligenz (KI)«, that is, artificial intelligence technologies, for creating, editing, managing and publishing content and for other tasks around the account.
The rule is recent. In the version the Internet Archive saved on 20 April 2026, the word »KI« (AI) does not appear at all. The July version brought several changes in one go: helpers such as agencies (§7.5), AI (§7.6) and disclosure in the chat (§7.7). If you go by older guides, you may be reading about a legal position that no longer exists.
What do Maloum’s AI rules say about labelling content?
Labelling is on you. Under §7.6 the creator has to observe and meet the labelling, transparency and information duties for AI-generated or AI-edited content »eigenverantwortlich«, on their own responsibility.
The terms do not say what a label should look like. Which legal duties apply to you in detail is not something we answer; that is a question for a lawyer. The contract does draw one firm line, though: the content bans in §8.2, for example on violence or non-consensual acts, expressly cover drawn, animated and computer-generated depictions too. An image does not become acceptable because software produced it.
What has to be disclosed in a Maloum chat?
That third parties or AI may be involved in that particular chat. §7.7 bans deceiving fans about who their chat partner is at that moment and requires disclosure that is »transparent und unmissverständlich« (transparent and unambiguous).
The rule covers AI in exactly the same way as human chatters. If you breach it, you have to indemnify Maloum against any claims that follow. Put simply: when a fan asks straight out whether you are the one typing right now, the answer must not be false, whether a person or a program wrote it.
What do fans learn about AI in the chat?
The fan terms of 9 July 2026 address it directly. Under §11.3 the fan acknowledges that third parties or AI may be used in the current chat, and §11.2 records that messages need not come solely from the creator in person.
Fan reviews from July 2026 also mention a notice shown right in the chat window. Maloum has not published its wording, and we could not check it. So do not count on the platform taking care of disclosure for you. The duty under §7.7 is yours, and the fan terms leave it that way.
Are chat bots allowed on Maloum?
AI that helps you write is allowed. Programs that reach into the platform on their own from outside are not: §8.2.5 bans every kind of automated access to the platform by external programs.
§7.7 adds that any use taking place outside your control is not permitted. A bot that messages fans, quotes prices and sells content with nobody watching is hard to reconcile with that. The automatic welcome message fans can receive when they follow or subscribe is a different matter: it is a feature of Maloum itself (fan terms §5.9).
| Use | Status under Maloum’s terms | Clause |
|---|---|---|
| Editing images or text with AI | allowed, labelling is your responsibility | §7.6 |
| AI drafts chat replies, a person checks them | allowed, with disclosure in the chat | §7.6, §7.7 |
| Misleading fans about who is writing | banned | §7.7 |
| Scrapers, auto-follow, auto-comments, messages sent by an external program | banned | §8.2.5 |
| A bot runs the chat without your control | not permitted | §7.7 |
| Third-party CRM that stays logged into the account | not addressed | open |
| Automatic welcome message | platform feature | fan terms §5.9 |
What does this mean for CRMs and chat software?
Nobody knows yet. The terms do not say whether a third-party CRM that logs into the account counts as automated access.
Such tools are on the market. In our agency study we found several vendors selling CRMs, translators or bots for Maloum; one advertises scrapers and automated messages every 20 seconds. Until Maloum settles the question, the risk sits with you. A breach of contract can trigger a €500 contractual penalty under §9.1 and, at worst, suspension or termination. If you want to use a tool like this, ask Maloum support in writing beforehand and keep the reply.
Does Bunny Agency use AI in Maloum chats?
No. With us, people write every message. Software supports the team in the background, and it never composes a reply to a fan.
§7.7 applies to our chatters all the same: under the terms they are third parties, so disclosure is part of every account we look after. How that works day to day is described on the page about chat management. If you would like to work in the chat yourself, the tasks and rules are under Maloum chatter jobs.
