How to get fans on Maloum

Written by Sophia Brecht Published Last updated

You can get fans on Maloum in two ways: inside the platform, through the discovery feature, the public top 100 ranking and the category and country pages, and from outside, through your own social media channels. Maloum itself writes that its discovery feature is no substitute for outside promotion, and nowhere does it promise reach. Checked against Maloum’s documents on 1 October 2026.

How do you get fans on Maloum?

By pairing visibility on the platform with visitors you bring along yourself. Maloum offers a few shop windows, but it alone decides who appears in them.

What strangers without a subscription see of you are your public posts. Strict rules apply there: no genitals, no nipples, no sexual acts. Explicit material goes into private posts, which only a paid subscription unlocks. Every post is reviewed before it goes live, and according to the help centre that usually takes a few minutes. Posting public content regularly that passes this review is what gives Maloum something to show curious fans in the first place.

What does Maloum’s discovery feature do?

It is meant to put you in front of fans who are actively looking for new creators; that is how Maloum describes it on its homepage. Maloum has not published the rules that decide which profiles it shows.

At launch the promise sounded more concrete. In April 2023, co-founder Tobias Mittendorfer told the tech site Trending Topics that Maloum would get an AI-based discovery feed suggesting content to match each user’s taste. That was a plan from the founding days. No current Maloum document says whether it was built or in what form, so we leave it out of our planning.

How do creators get into Maloum’s top 100?

Under §11.1 of the creator terms, Maloum builds the public ranking from several engagement criteria, the earnings achieved and the quality of the content. How much weight each factor carries is not stated.

That creates an awkward sequence. The list rewards accounts that already have fans and income, so for a new account it is a late outcome rather than a starting point. On top of that, §11.2 lets Maloum change or scrap the ranking without notice. A plan built entirely around a spot among the top creators depends on a feature you have no say over.

Which category and country pages does Maloum have?

On 1 October 2026 the maloum.com sitemap listed ten category pages, one of them for fitness, and two country pages: Germany and Austria. Switzerland has no page.

Maloum does not explain how a profile ends up on these pages. For creators based in Switzerland the practical upshot is clear: right now nobody finds you through a country page, so your own channels matter more for you.

Is reach inside Maloum enough?

No, and Maloum says so itself. Its help article on promotion and pricing states that active promotion decides your success, even with Maloum’s own discovery feature in place. It names Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit and YouTube.

The logic is simple: someone who already follows you on Reddit or TikTok lands on your profile with a purpose and only has to subscribe. The same article sets €5 as the minimum subscription price and passes on the €5–15 range recommended by successful creators. Bear one thing in mind: if you raise your price later, existing fans keep paying their original amount for good, and only new subscribers pay the higher one. A very low launch price stays with you for those early fans. How we build these channels for creators is set out on the page about Maloum marketing.

What is banned when you promote Maloum?

Anything that leads fans away from Maloum. §8.1 bans links, usernames, contact details and any other pointer to channels, websites or payment routes outside the platform; §8.2.6 and §8.2.7 ban advertising rival platforms and poaching fans.

The confusing part is that Maloum’s own comparison page with OnlyFans hints at something else: roughly, that you could promote each platform on the other. The contract is what binds you. Our reading: promotion brings fans from outside into Maloum and never sends them out of it. If you run both platforms, the differences are laid out in our comparison of Maloum vs OnlyFans.

Tools that follow, like or comment automatically are no shortcut either. The terms ban every kind of automated access by external programs (§8.2.5), and §9.1 sets a flat contractual penalty of €500 for breaches.

Can an agency guarantee you fans on Maloum?

No. Maloum alone controls discovery and the ranking, and reach on social media cannot be promised either. Whoever offers you a fixed number of fans is promising something outside their control.

What can be shaped is the work around it: regular public posts, channels outside Maloum, a subscription price that makes joining easy, and a chat where new subscribers hear back quickly. Our case studies come from OnlyFans accounts and are stated in US dollars. On Maloum we pull the same levers without promising results. What fans end up bringing in, in euros, is the subject of making money on Maloum.
