Last updated: 2026-10-01

The short answer to the questions creators ask most about Maloum: the platform keeps 20% of your net revenue, pays out once a month by credit note (Gutschrift) to your bank account, and has no app in the app stores. This Maloum agency FAQ goes into each point, along with what fans pay, who runs Maloum and when you may start selling. Everything was checked on 1 October 2026.

## What does the Maloum agency FAQ cover, and what is answered elsewhere?

Below are six answers about the platform that are worth having before you work with any agency. They draw on Maloum's creator contract as of 9 July 2026, the fan terms, the help centre at support.maloum.com and the legal notice of the company that operates Maloum.

Questions about our own work are answered on the page that deals with the topic in depth. That way every answer appears exactly once on this site, next to the background it needs.

## Where are the answers about working with us?

On eleven topic pages. The table matches each topic to the page that answers it.

## Why does Maloum sometimes give two different figures?

Because Maloum's contract, help centre and marketing pages do not agree everywhere. We follow the creator contract, since it alone governs what you actually agree with Maloum.

Three of the gaps touch your money. For the payout date, the contract says by the end of the following month, while the help centre says the 1st of each month. For the minimum amount, the contract carries anything under €30.00 over to the next month, while the help centre says there are no payout limits. And Maloum's comparison pages claim that VAT is already included in the 20%. The contract does it the other way round: it adds tax on top of the fan's price and calculates your share from the net amount. Where an answer below is affected, it gives both versions.

## How current are these answers?

They reflect the position on 1 October 2026. Maloum announces changes to its creator terms four weeks ahead, and the version in force carries the note »Stand 9. Juli 2026« (as of 9 July 2026). Before a bigger decision it pays to read the [terms of use for creators](https://www.maloum.com/de/creator-terms) yourself, in the German version, which is the binding one.

Terms such as creator revenue (Creatorumsatz) or credit note are explained in the [Maloum glossary](https://agentur-maloum.de/en/glossary/), and longer articles sit in the [Maloum creator guides](https://agentur-maloum.de/en/blog/). Before you sign with an agency, read [which clauses in an agency contract matter](https://agentur-maloum.de/en/maloum-agency-contract/).

### When can I start selling content on Maloum?

As soon as Maloum has approved your creator account. Before that you must be 18 or older, confirm your identity through the verification service Ondato with a passport, ID card or driving licence, and show that you act as a business (Unternehmer), for instance with a VAT ID (UID number). Maloum gives itself two weeks for this check under § 4.2 of its [creator terms](https://www.maloum.com/de/creator-terms). From then on every post is reviewed before it goes live, usually within minutes. A creator account cannot be turned back into a fan account.

### Is there a Maloum app?

No, Maloum has no app in the App Store or on Google Play. Its help centre explains this with the tight rules both stores apply to 18+ content. You therefore open Maloum in a browser at maloum.com, on a phone or a computer. The help centre says you can pin the site to your home screen as a web app; it then launches like an app while still running through the browser. We last checked this on 1 October 2026.

### Do fans have to pay to use Maloum?

Partly. Maloum's help centre says public posts are free for anyone. Private posts only open up with a paid subscription, priced monthly by the creator at €5 or more and renewed automatically until the fan cancels. Subscribers still pay separately for some chat content, and tips and shop items come on top. Every purchase carries Maloum's 15% service fee, and fan prices include VAT ([fan terms](https://www.maloum.com/de/terms), version of 9 July 2026). Fans can pay with Apple Pay, PayPal, a credit card or Klarna/SOFORT, among others.

### When does Maloum pay out?

Monthly, as a credit note (Gutschrift) paid to the IBAN saved in your account. Maloum gives two different versions of the date. The [creator terms](https://www.maloum.com/de/creator-terms) (§ 15.7, version of 9 July 2026) say the end of the calendar month after your earnings arise, and a month's total below €30.00 rolls over. The help centre instead mentions a transfer on the 1st of each month with no minimum, normally arriving 1–2 working days later. Base your planning on the contract, since that is what you signed.

### Who is behind Maloum?

Maloum is operated by neolime GmbH, Kolonitzgasse 2/54, 1030 Vienna, Austria, company register number FN 574724 h. Its legal notice lists the three co-founders Jonas Aspetzberger, Florian Gruber and Tobias Mittendorfer as managing directors. The Maloum brand went live in 2023, and in April 2023 Trending Topics reported a pre-seed round of €750,000 from Austrian business angels. Creator contracts fall under Austrian law, with the German text binding. By Maloum's own count, more than 50,000 creators use the platform.

### How much of my earnings does Maloum keep?

As standard, Maloum keeps 20% of your creator revenue (Creatorumsatz) and you get 80%, as set out in § 15.4 of [Maloum's creator terms](https://www.maloum.com/de/creator-terms) (version of 9 July 2026). The split is worked out on the net price, so without VAT and without the 15% service fee that fans pay on top and that goes entirely to Maloum. Measured against the fan's net payment, the contract puts your 80% at 69.5%. Individual written deals giving you 60% to 100% are possible.
